For purposes of clarity, this means the following:
(a) The Competition is open to all participants regardless of professional status, age, education, and/or background.
(b) All participants must accept the Oticons Faculty Competition structure and content, mission statement, participant tasks and winner awards.
(c) All participants must accept and comply with the Competition’s legal and regulatory terms and conditions. For more information, please read the Official Rules page.
The steps that you need to complete successfully to participate are:
You are requested to compose a great melody, a memorable tune, one that a filmmaker would consider a Main Theme. With this task you are called to prove your skill into composing a melody that might instantly get imprinted in the memory of the audience and even make them hum it after a single listening...
You are requested to compose epic, powerful, grandiose, heroic music, without the use of any percussions, brass, woodwinds or choir but only with strings and any other acoustic instruments you may wish.
No electronic instruments of any kind are allowed to be used.
You are asked to compose the musical score for a key scene of an in-production feature film. For this task you shall be provided with a certain scene from the script pages, along with a brief from the director.
Every year the film project linked with this Assignment is different and it is only revealed when it has been chosen by the Oticons Faculty Team and prepared to be shared with the contestants.
NOTE: This task isn't about scoring "on picture" but getting inspired from the scene as written on the script! The brief, and visuals (if any) that might be supplied, only aim to inspire and define the atmosphere the filmmakers want to achieve.
The participants are only allowed to log in at the given Login page and upload all the materials of all completed Assignments #1, #2 and #3 only ONCE!!! You may log in multiple times, but you are only allowed to do only ONE batch upload of all files (3 mp3 files & 2 pdf files). In other words, the participants aren't allowed to upload the files separately, delete them or replace them! Once the upload of all materials of the completed first three assignments will be validated their login will be locked!
